CEREC –Same Day Restoration

We utilize the newest digital dental technology in our Soldotna office, including CEREC one-visit restoration technology, to help us provide you with the best dental experience.

CEREC technology allows our team to provide you with a custom made, high-quality dental restoration in a single visit to our office. Traditional dental techniques require at least two visits to complete many dental restorations. CEREC technology saves you time and discomfort by eliminating the need for a second visit.

With CEREC technology, we can create many types of cosmetic dental restorations in just one visit, including same day crowns, dental veneers, dental inlays and onlays. With CEREC one-visit restorations, you will have no need for uncomfortable temporary crowns, veneers or other restorations. In addition, CEREC uses advanced scanning technology and computer-aided design manufacturing (CAD/CAM) to design the restoration, eliminating the need for messy impressions.

CEREC one-visit restorations are created from high-quality porcelain that is matched to your individual tooth color, so your restoration will look beautiful and natural for years to come.

Computer Guided Dental Implant Placement

A dental implant can be an excellent choice for replacing a missing tooth.

A dental implant is an artificial tooth root that is surgically placed in the jawbone. The implant provides a stable foundation for the replacement tooth and ensures that the restoration is comfortable and lifelike.

There are many long-lasting benefits of dental implants. You will be able to chew comfortably, speak clearly, and smile with confidence.

Here at Gentle Dental we use a guided implant surgery system, which is another one of our advanced dental technologies. With this latest advance in dentistry, we can use computer software and computer tomography (CT) 3D imaging to facilitate the strategic and precise placement of the dental implant to achieve longevity and optimal results.

Cone Beam CT Scanning

We are proud to utilize our cone beam 3D imaging system that provides our doctors with a three-dimensional reconstruction of your oral environment.

CBCT shows the body’s interior structures as a three-dimensional image. CBCT is used to identify facial bone problems, such as tumors or fractures. CBCT is also used to evaluate bone for dental implant placement, root canal treatment  and difficult tooth extractions to avoid possible complications.

Digital X-Rays

Digital X-rays, also referred to as dental radiographs, are an advanced diagnostic tool that we use at Gentle Dental. Digital radiology produces safe X-Rays that make the diagnostics process easier and more efficient.

Unlike traditional X-rays that use film, digital X-rays use a digital sensor to take images of your teeth. Digital X-rays use significantly less radiation than analog film due to rapid exposure times, are environmentally friendly, and require no chemicals to develop the images. They’re also quickly and easily viewed on the computer screen, and are the safest dental X-ray option available.

The iTero Element 5D is the first hybrid dental imaging system that simultaneously records 3D, intraoral color and NIRI images- eliminating the need for multiple devices and repetitive sterilization.

With the iTero TimeLapse technology, the patient is engaged and participates in the diagnosing of oral treatments. iTero Elements 5D helps patients visualize diagnostic, restorative, or orthodontic comparisons.

Lasers have been used in dentistry since 1994 to treat a number of dental problems.

Dental laser treatments can be used to reshape gums and remove bacteria during root canal procedures. Gum treatments with lasers may also be necessary for aesthetic reasons.

Lasers can also be used to remove a small piece of tissue (called a biopsy) so that it can be examined for cancer, or to remove lesions in the mouth, and relieve the pain of canker sores or herpetic lesions on/around the mouth.

Lasers are also used in dentistry to speed up in-office teeth whitening procedures. When used in teeth-whitening procedures, the laser acts as a heat source and enhances the effect of tooth-bleaching agents. In this case, a peroxide bleaching solution, applied to the tooth surface, is ''activated" by laser energy, which speeds up the whitening process.

When used for surgical and dental procedures, the laser acts as a cutting instrument or a vaporizer of tissue that it comes in contact with.
