The White Family
“This is doctor Stephen White here and I wanted to take the opportunity to better introduce myself and my family, and say welcome!
I moved my family up to Alaska in 2012, from Boise, Idaho where my wife Keri and I both grew up, after the purchase of Gentle Dental. We have two sons, Ethan (14) and Caleb (10) and a daughter Mackenzie (12). Our years in Alaska have brought great community, adventure, challenges, tremendous growth, and a now thriving business of which I am truly proud and grateful for.
My interest in dentistry began after a skiing accident in high school left me with a fractured front tooth. The subsequent year of orthodontics and dental work to repair it, piqued my interest. I also met my wife Keri in high school and we were married in 2000. After graduating from the College of Idaho in 2002, we packed our bags and moved to San Antonio, Texas, where I attended the University of Texas Health Science Center Dental School. Since graduating in 2006, I have endeavored to stay current on all aspects of dentistry by attending many continuing education classes. In 2013, I was awarded a Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry.
My love of Alaska began in 1999, when I came to Soldotna to fish the Kenai River. I made trips back every year or so until moving here with my family in 2012. I love the mountains, trees and rivers. I love the wide open space and the fresh air. I love fishing and hunting, and I love now calling such a beautiful place home.
The kids have enjoyed so much of what Alaska has to offer as well. They have loved learning to fish and hunt with me, and they love helping their grandfather in the garden. In 2016, they helped grow the new Alaska State Record tomato, which weighed 7.15lbs!
I’m most happy when spending time with my family, and when I am at work. At Gentle Dental I get to work with talented, passionate people to make a difference in other people's lives by helping them stay healthy, which I find truly rewarding.
I really enjoy almost every aspect of dentistry, but I think utilizing the latest CAD-CAM technology to manufacture crowns for our patients in one visit is my favorite. I also love using Cone-Beam technology in conjuncture with the CAD software to perform guided implant surgery. The results are outstanding and produce attractive teeth and happy patients.
We are an ideal practice for patients who value prevention and the advantages that leading-edge technology can offer in dental treatment. We feel honored to be entrusted with caring for our patients and strive to always treat them like we would like to be treated. I look forward to the opportunity to know and care for you and your loved ones, and from my family to yours we’d like to say welcome!”
